Freetown, 27th August, 2024 (MFMR)- A group of Chinese Investors, led by the Chairman of a Grain Wholesale Market Company in Zhengzhou, Republic of China, and Cui Jie has on Monday, 26th August, 2024, visited the Fish Harbour Project Site at Black Johnson Community, Western Area Rural District.
The purpose of the visit was to enable them evaluate the possibility of investing in a number of areas including Aquaculture, Trade and Tourism within the project’s princint.
Speaking during a conducted tour of project’s site, the Focal Point for the project, Mohamed Jalloh, thanked the delegation for the visit, assuring them of Government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the project is successfully implemented.
He gave a brief historical sketch about the project, noting that their ultimate aim is to develop the project site into a Modern Fish Harbour with a variety of ancillary services that would serve as “One Stop Shops Centre” and expressed the desire to give preference to Chinese Investors.
He encouraged interested investors, both local and international to make the best use of the opportunity as they intend to transform the site into a conducive environment with a plethora of attractive business opportunities after the implementation of the project.
Head of the delegation, Ciu Jie, said, he was very, pleased with the location of the project site and its surrounding natural resources, describing it as “ideal for purpose”
Sierra Leone, he said has made tremendous progress in various fields of endeavor, especially on the international stage and registered their desire to invest in fields of Aquaculture (Fish Farming), Commerce and Tourism.
The delegation which, comprised of a representative of an Agricultural Investment Company Limited who also serves as Dean of Agricultural Development Academy in China, Tian Jianmin and General Manager of Henan Xinnong Trading Company also visited the Ministries of Agriculture and Trade.
