The opposition Leader in Parliament, Hon Abdul Kargbo, says the opposition are not expecting “any re-run of June 2023 elections.
According to Hon Abdul Kargbo since day one at the Bintumani dialogue the mediators initially gave clear mandates on the negotiations between the SLPP and the APC.
He said when they went to the AU dialogue which led to formation of the tripartite committee, they initially wanted to work out of the dialogue because the international mediators were very sacrosanct about the dialogue.
He said the APC party later agreed to continue with the dialogue and the APC were displeased with the mandate of the mediators.
He said the mediators were also very much clear about the process, something he kept expressing vaguely.
He maintained that now that the tripartite committee has finished its work, the APC party decided to go on with the party’s activities to avoid a court action.
Hon Kargbo informed that no party executives ever received bribe from anyone, adding that all the allegations against the party are false and baseless.
He said the party is always read to embrace electoral justice but that they are continuing with the party’s registration.
“Even if the APC are in power, the registration and verification must have started by now. So electoral justice will not stop the verification and registration,” he confirmed.
He said what the APC party need at the moment is to have one vioce and push for the victory of the party.
Hon Kargbo also confirmed that the ECOWAS military are not coming to remove President Bio but are coming in the country to serve as a standby force, probably should an unrest happens.
He went further to say that the APC members and supporters should stop accusing one another.
“What is currently happening with the party is not good. We need to stop and work towards ensuring a victory for the party, ” he said.
