As things progress, Sierra Leone is set to make its mark at the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, Kazakhstan, with two mass-wrestling athletes representing the nation. In the 2,000 athletes from 150 countries, Sierra Leonean wrestler Ansu Bakarr Kamara will open the competition in the 90kg mass-wrestling category on Tuesday, facing an opponent from the host nation.
The input of the athletes has been made possible by the National Sports Authority (NSA), and NSA extended well-wishes to the athletes, affirming their commitment to enhancing the country’s presence in international sporting events.
NSA has lately supported various teams, including the National Amputee Football Team, which earned the fair play award at the Amputee Football Nations Cup in Cairo, and with a Sierra Leonean gymnasts, securing gold medals at the 2nd Baku Gymnastics showpiece in Azerbaijan.
Moreover, the Roll Ball National Team clinched a 4-2 victory over Ivory Coast in Abidjan. Abdulai emphasized that the NSA’s support is focused on sports that exhibit cross-border show, with solid governance, and strong national demonstration.
