The Wise Bird has been flying the length and breadth of the country to get the views of the people in respect of our country’s political discussions unfolding every single day.
The most respected animal visited almost all the districts and chiefdoms in the country over the weekend with the view of getting firsthand information.
In Kono, a lot of revelations came out asking whether the people of Kono have now buried the hatchet as there was misunderstanding among the people quite recently there?
To be honest with you, a good number of the people are still disturbed over the dim past and present situation of the APC party.
The people of Kono told the brave bird that, in 2012 elections, the people voted overwhelmingly for the party, the vote was between 70-80% of people giving their support to former President Koroma.
In that same election they said, Kono district voted for almost eight (8) parliamentary seats, 27 wards in the Kono district council in 2008 local council elections.
The people further told the bird that, Kono district is one of three districts in the eastern region that has eight (8) constituencies, 27 wards and 14 Chiefdom, so simply put the district is very important, they said.
The people were very bold to have said that, the party has deprived them of their rights, because up to date the status of their son has not been handled with any seriousness. The Konos are angry with APC. And they have a huge vote turn out.
And, indeed, political analysts have said the APC can win an election but without Kono district it will be very difficult for the party to sail through even though APC is part of Kono and Kono is part of APC.
