Baitor Barrie, who is a scrap metal worker, made his first appearance before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba Road Court No.1 in Freetown.
He was accousted on a count of committing a crime of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence on the 18th September 2024 at Kingtom Police Barracks, west of Freetown, the suspect reportedly stole one big sized aluminum pot, one medium size aluminium pot, one small size aluminum port and other assorted items costing five thousand four hundred and fifty Leones(5,450) property of Hawanatu Kamara.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused person he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor Sergeant 9939 Mohamed Lahai told the Magistrate that fact as charge no available records against the accused person.
The accused person was not legally represented and he pleaded with the magistrate to temper justice with mercy on his behalf.
Due to the plea mitigation by the accused person, the court time was not wasted.
And magistrates Kekura sentenced him to eighteen months imprisonment or pay a fine of three thousand Leones to the state.
