For many years Sierra Leone has been regarded internationally as a lawless country and a failed State.
For decades, the leaders and the governed in this troubled land have lived in two worlds, the world of sufferers and world of poor people.
While the Leaders have lived in pretentious riches, the people live in squalor over the years.
Sierra Leoneans have seen the worse in the hands of their compatriots, marginalization, politically machinated killings, destruction of properties, all have happened in the hands of our so-called leaders.
Today, a people and a democracy on this land, it has seen the worst ever in its history. Under her present democracy, houses have been sized all in the name of politics failing to think about tomorrow.
We should remember that, no condition is permanent under the sun, things change at every tick of the clock.
The big problem today in Sierra Leone is that, the country is still invaded by economic rebels who entered the political circle to merely exploit and smuggle our abundant natural resources to the extent that, the indigenes of this nation see themselves as refugees and foreigners in their own mother land.
Some foreign businesspeople in the country have little or no respect for law and order and even those working under them suffer the same.
Some institutions in Sierra Leone today import expired goods and drugs into the country without being checked by the authorities concerned because of kick-backs.
In my humble opinion, I would like to suggest that, all arrangements to import food items and or drugs into the country must be monitored to the letter in order to save the lives of the people.
Furthermore, I also want to suggest that, while foreign investors should be encouraged to come to invest in the country so as to reduce the high rate of unemployment now affecting the country, the interest of the land and people should always remain paramount.
Let me also suggest that, all contracts to private and government owned companies etc be thoroughly investigated because some contracts awarded have never been geared towards national development, but are meant for the benefit of a few unscrupulous business people including top class politicians in the country.
It will also be wise if the activities of senior Civil Servants are closely monitored as some of them are very corrupt to say the least and they resist change for the better, they always want things to be on their own advantage.
It is no hidden secret that, they are often the cause of most of the bad name that the President, government Ministers are getting, because these rogues are the vote controllers in all the Ministries.
