In a pump and pageantry occasion, German nationals have celebrated German Day in Freetown.
The celebration was held on Thursday, 3rd October, 2024, at the residence of the Ambassador to Sierra Leone at Hill Station in Freetown.
Addressing attendees during the celebration, the German ambassador to Sierra Leone Ambassador, Jens Kraus-Massé thanked the attendees for gracing the occasion.
He gave a reminiscent of the bilateral relationship between Sierra Leone and the Republic of Germany, spanning 60 years since formed.
Ambassador Jens Kraus-Massé said German Day celebration is a way of reminiscing the struggles of their nation.
He said the Day is a history landmark for not only the German people but for the world at large.
He said Germany will continue to foster the good relationship that exists between them and Sierra Leoneans.
Speaking on Germany’s development to the people of Sierra Leone, Ambassador Jens Kraus-Massé noted that Germany will continue to support Sierra Leoneans in the areas of agriculture, health, education and among others.
Ambassador Jens Kraus-Massé used the occasion to call on authorities concerned to ensure that the recommendations by the Tripartite Committee are fully implemented.
He called on Sierra Leoneans to continue to maintaining the peace, adding that the country can only develop if there is total peace observed.
A representative of Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the government of president Julius Maada Bio is determined to continuing promoting the friendly and the good bilateral relationship that has existed between Sierra Leone and Germany.
He said Germany had been and still continues to be good a friend of Sierra Leone.
He thanked the Germans for their good work to Sierra Leoneans.
The celebration attracted key government officials, members of Civil Society, foreign diplomatic heads, business community, the private sector heads, the media, etc.
The celebration was climaxed by a light entertainment demonstrated by Germans’ best Jass entertainers group.
