It is now clear that, the tripartite is over as Senior members of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party have expressed determination to become flag bearers themselves.
Stalwarts of the party are preparing for the next convention to happen sometimes next year.
Very likely the party will be electing its candidate who will challenge the ruling SLPP.
Several people have expressed interest for the position.
One Isata Kanu told this medium that, the APC party is now focusing on the flag bearership than telling the people about the outcome of the just concluded tripartite.
“I saw Dr. Richard Conteh, Ade Macauley, Jagaban, Sam Sumana and Chericoco and among others talking and campaigning for the Flag bearership position instead of clarifying the fate of June 24 elections,” she said.
Although, she added, Dr. Samura Matthew Wilson Kamara, had said earlier that the June 2023 elections are not yet a done and dusted affairs, as he described those who are claiming that 2023 elections is a done and dusted deal as DAY- DREAMERS.
The APC Public Relations team has disclosed that there will be no re-run elections being recommended by just concluded tripartite Committee.
The party PRO, Sidi Yayah Tunis, had said the party had resolved to go on with its activities with Dr. Samura Kamara and the party engaging on the way forward for an electoral justice to be served.
He said the party would not sit by and wait without a clue on the tripartite outcome.
But he said they would go on pushing their demands until justice are achieved, adding that membership verification will be hindered and it has legal implications if the party reneges on its duty.
The Leader of the opposition in Parliament, Hon. Abdul Kargbo had also confirmed that the party is ready to seeking electoral justice but only that the fact is, he added, the party activities should not be halted.
Abdul Kargbo had also said the party is now focusing on verification and registration of new member as per the constitution.
He said if the party continues to renege on its duties, there will be a possibility for a legal action to be taken against it by any member of the party.
“We don’t want the party activities stalled again due to court actions like before,” he said.
Several members have welcomed the idea of the registration but had cautioned the membership to focus on ensuring unity in the party rather than fighting for a flagship.
