The Executive Director of the St. George Foundation, Madam Jestina Zainab Conteh, boosts famers in Koya Chiefdom with agricultural tools and cash to ease farm work.
The donation ceremony took place at Mamando Village, Koya Chiefdom in Port Loko District.
The donation is party of Madam Jestina Zainab Conteh’s Foundation unwavering commitment to ensuring food self- sufficiency in deprived communities in the country.
Making her statement, Madam Conteh, said the reason for the gesture is to help farmers to have a startup (capital) and with tools to help the. Undertake their agricultural activities.
She said the help is also meant to boost farmers in three vulnerable communities that cannot afford to buy tools for themselves.
Madam Conteh also informed farmers that her focus over years has been to helping the needy in farming especially those in hard to reach communities in that part of the country.
She maintained that, the support is part of her agenda as a foundation to save famers and their families from hunger and being poor forever.
Madam Jestina Conteh emphasized on the current situation in Sierra Leone is being trapped economically.
She described the situation as unfriendly especially as the economic difficulties weigh hard on people.
The philanthropist expressed her profound thanks and commitment to always being there for the needy, especially for farmers who are working to get their daily sustenance.
“I want you all to use these materials for their intended purposes. This is the farming season and you all should work so you will be able to put food on your table.” “Please, help your children who are in school to learn with the money you get out of agriculture. Education is key and when food is always on table children’s education can be simple, “she said.
Madam Conteh’s work has also been felt in Koya Cheifdom, Port District and so many orphans, destitute, homeless and other vulnerable classes who are no longer strangers to Madam Jestina Conteh’s philanthropist and her foundation work.
Her foundation has been regarded as a life-saving with footprint all over the the communities around.
Stakeholders in various communities have expressed their gratitude to the St George Foundation especially to the executive director praising her for her support.
They said the gesture is one of their felt needs in communities as many of them always have failed to engage themselves in farming because of the lacking tools and cash.
They assured the Foundation’s members of using the tools and cash for their intended purposes.
