Ishmeal Fullah alias (China Man) has got a bail. He is a business man and he made his first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 in Freetown on private criminal sermons on one count charge of obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to Section 32 (1) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offence, sometime in 2021 at Hill Cut Road in the Western Area in Freetown obtained from the complainant Mamoud Koroma the sum of fifteen thousand New Leones (NLe 15,000) for the purpose of buying three tons iron rods knowing same to be false.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.
Counsel representing the accused, A.M Kamara indicates to the court that the said iron rods were delivered to the complainant in question by the accused.
Due to the information from the defense counsel, Magistrate Bangura advised the parties to go and settle the matter and granted bail to the accused in the sum of twenty thousand Leones with two sureties in like sum. And the accused was granted bail.
Bail was approved by the Deputy Assistant Registrar, and matter comes up again on 14th October, 2023.
