The Technical Department of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), is set to hold a coaching instructors course for coaches across the country.
According to Ibrahim Kamara, Head of Media and Communications of SLFA, told newsmen that this year’s course will highly focus on capacity building and human capital, adding that the training will start on Wednesday 23rd August 2023 at the SLFA Academy, Conference Hall in Freetown, and it would last for two weeks.
However, he confirmed that qualified applicants must hold a CAF License A,B or with a minimum of five years coaching experience.
In other development, he informed the public that the course is not free, and interested persons are expected to pay two thousand Leones new note (Le 2,000).
Nonetheless, an unknown coach who refused to disclose his name to Africa24 sports expressed disappointment due to the current economic trend in the country.
Even though, I am qualified for the course, but I am cash trapped at moment. We are expecting SLFA to grant us the opportunity, as good numbers of us will not show up based on the underlining factors on the ground.
SLFA is receiving funds from FIFA for such courses in order to upgrade local coaches at home.” The coach who prefers anonymity concluded.
