Steven Caulker has accepted the call-up to represent Sierra Leone’s national team, the Leone Stars, despite his lack of appearances for FC Malaga City this season.
Caulker, who has yet to feature for his club this campaign, expressed his appreciation and will-power to lead his nation in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
He emphasized that the honor he feels for being selected to represent Sierra Leone once again. Despite his limited playing time at the club level in the past 12 months in Spain, Caulker stated that Sierra Leone has shown great trust in his abilities to lead the team.
“We have two important World Cup qualifiers coming up in June that I am determined to be fit and ready for,” Caulker stated, stressing his commitment to prepare himself physically and mentally for the upcoming challenges.
The call-up despite his lack of club appearances reflects his dedication to national duty and his desire to contribute to Sierra Leone’s footballing success in international stage.
The veteran defender, who previously played for English clubs, brings a wealth of experience to the Leone Stars squad. His leadership qualities and defensive prowess will be crucial assets as Sierra Leone aims to secure positive results in their World Cup qualifying matches.
