The PAC’s boss says they need vehicles that will take them to these far-flung communities.
The Deputy Speaker who doubles as the Chairman of the Public Account Committee made this statement on Tuesday 29th October 2024 while updating journalists on the committee’s activities at the new Administrative Building conference Room in Parliament.
According to Hon. Tawa Conteh his committee had prepared a reschedule for its overnight functions in the 2023 Audit Service reports, saying it will now be a monthly oversight functions.
He said the committee will be looking at the provincial ministry, department, agencies and councils. And that on the following months they shall be looking at MDAs in the western area of the country.
He said they are determined and had held discussions with relevant agencies and stakeholders on how the committee’s oversight will be conducted and sponsored.
He also informed that the committee will soon submit report of their findings, recommendations and reviews for actions.
He spoke on the progress made so far and the determination to address the perennial problems in managing the country’s resources.
The PAC Chair informed that the committee’s had submitted a request for performance on audit reports to the committee for members to be abreast themselves with reports before the 2023 audit service report.
He said the PAC with start the hearings of the 2023 report and the January 2025 after it shall have been tabled in Parliament.
He said they would make sure that hearings on 2023 Audit Service reports go smoothly with achievable progress.
