Sierra Leonean international footballers, Emmanuel Sahr Samadia, Sulaiman Kaikai and others are making waves in universal club football despite their poor show in the ongoing AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
Samadia, who plays for Hartford Athletic in the USL Championship, was named in the league’s Team of the Week after a stellar display in his team’s 2-1 victory over FC Tulsa.
The versatile midfielder created four chances, including two clear scoring opportunities, while also showcasing his defensive capabilities.
Samadia won both of his tackles, made three clearances, and registered seven recoveries.
His accuracy on the ball was equally impressive, completing 50 of 59 passes, playing a crucial role in his team’s hard-fought win.
Meanwhile, Sulaiman Kaikai continued their outstanding run of form in England’s League One, scoring a key goal in Cambridge United’s 2-0 win over Stevenage.
Kaikai’s goal not only sealed the victory but also provided an important boost for his team in the league standings as they continue their push for success this season.
Both players’ outstanding performances are shining examples of the growing influence of Sierra Leonean footballers in international football.
