The Wise Bird has been going through various scriptures in the Holy Bible about the “POWER OF THE TONGUE”.
The brave bird after putting one and one together, came to realization that, the tongue is power that, it can make or spoil to the disadvantage of others.
Take the case of “GOSSIP”, gossip is often a method to promote ourselves by way of putting others down, or to create such public and social pressure on others that they are compelled to do what we want.
Many a time, sustained gossip leads to a breakdown of trust to the next man or woman.
Sometimes, the most respected animal hears bad things about people, whenever it is so the bird begins to doubt the reason for that.
The bird will automatically believe and come to the conclusion that, some of those statements are without verification but again, under the theory “where there’s smoke, there’s always fire”.
Sometimes we attribute bad motives and behaviors to people by ignoring the facts, in that light, the wise bird is advising everybody to stop gossiping as both the Bible and the Quran are strongly against the idea of gossip.
The question is what can we do to stop gossiping in our ways of life? It is simple, just to hold God with both hands.
One might want to ask, what is gossiping? With all due respect to our readers, the brave bird stands to be corrected.
Gossip is when a person(s) repeats a statement(s) against one person and cannot justify it in front of the person that could be termed as gossiping.
As a people we should always endeavor to be peaceful and peacemakers and reconcilers.
Let’s be rest assured that, God is able to fight our battles and change our situation with a tick of the clock.
God is a God of all truth; He knows us in and out regardless of one’s position, so gossiping will not pay us as a people, lets us all be our brother’s keepers.
In Proverbs 26:20 Solomon tells us how to stop this strife, “where no wood is, the fire ceases, also where there is no talebearer, the strife ceases”.
When we gossip, we are really saying that, we totally hate the one about whom we are talking about.
By contrast, when we refuse to pass out rumours to others, we help to put an end to strife and we help to promote peace and fellowship.
