The National Sports Authority (NSA) has endorsed ten law graduates for their contributions in drafting new regulations aimed at advancing Sierra Leone’s sports sector.

The documentation ceremony, held last Friday at NSA’s headquarters on Signal Hill Road, and it marks a essential step in the country’s efforts to establish a legal framework for sports governance.

Dr. Abdulai Saffa, Executive Director of NSA applauded the graduates for their dedicated service, thus stressing the long-term impacts of their work. “This is a national sacrifice that won’t be forgotten,” he said.

“Your reward is both tangible and everlasting, as your efforts will benefit Sierra Leone’s sports community for generations.”

The new regulations, crafted during a three-month internship, cover five key areas in sports governance, including the establishment of a Sports Development Fund, an Anti-Doping Authority, and a Court of Arbitration.

Margaret Sesay, on behalf of the graduates uttered gratitude for the internes.

She described the venture as a landmark of “endless opportunities” within the sports sector. She noted that the experience was not only to enhance their legal skills but also to underscore their commitment to national development.

The regulations are expected to play a critical role in changing Sierra Leone’s sports landscape, supporting development, ensuring equality, and providing a structured approach to resolving disputes in soccer.
