Alhassan Kamara has been elected President of the Sierra Leone Athletics Association (SLAA).
The election happened Northeast Region of Sierra Leone in a milestone contest held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Tonkolili District Council Hall.
Kamara secured the presidency after defeating Sheku Kabba in a pivotal ballot vote cast by delegate members.
His victory signals a new track for athletics in the region, with promises of growth and development under his leadership to be delivered.
In other key positions, Yayah Koroma was elected Vice President after a close contest with Francis Turay, while Beatrice A. Bangura won the Treasury role by defeating Emma Tarawalie.
The election process was overseen by Commissioner Dr. Idriss O. Kamara, with Mr. Augustine A. Kargbo and Mr. Samuel Sebora Kamara serving as presiding officers.
