Report reaching this medium strongly indicates that the two veteran payers of Leone Stars, Kei Kamara and Captain Steven Caulker had abandoned their camp in Monrovia, Liberia just hours before AFCON 2025 match with Zambia to be played on Tuesday 19th November, 2024.
The Sierra Leone male national football team were knocked out of the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The team have planned to honour their final fixture later.
It became apparent that days ago the team knew it had failed to qualify for the tournament next year after being held to a draw by Chad and Zambia.
The results confirmed that Sierra Leone can’t qualify even if they win Zambia.
Many Leone Stars’ fans were left upset as they failed to capitalize on winning both matches against the group minnows, Chad.
And Chad are bottom of the group with two points.
The Head of Media and Marketing of SLFA, Ibrahim Kamara on his post at SWASAL forum said Leone Stars’ captain, Steven Caulker, had in the morning left the team’s camp in Monrovia, Liberia to return home due to urgent personal matters that require his immediate attention. Kei’s reason is unknown.
