Bra Parrot is a protagonist to the police, institutions, individuals and the general public as well. This is more the reason a lot of people love the brave bird because Bra Parrot is not bias in doing things.

As the brave bird is still turning the pages of the Auditor-General’s Report on the Accounts of Sierra Leone.

The brave bird quickly turned to pages 164 and 165 respectively under the captions titled, Assessment of the Operational Effectiveness of the Regional Office-South, Assessment of the Operational Effectiveness of the Regional Office North-East and Revenue not supported by Documentation, East.

To the dismay of the brave bird, police officers in the South, North and Eastern part of the country are working under very difficult conditions to say the least, the brave bird has now seen why sometimes, police officers do take bribes especially up the provinces and even here in Freetown, because of the poor working condition.

Bra Parrot is not in support of bribery, but working in a police station without a computer, printer, scanner and so forth, God alone knows how one will work effectively; Bra Parrot rests its case.

According to the Audit’s report into the account of Sierra Leone, police officers in all the regions are working under very difficult conditions, the report says, the building and the toilets facilities need urgent rehabilitation, as the floors, windows, ceilings and roof of the building and are all dilapidated.

Bra Parrot also saw that, the 2021 budget for the SLP South was not fully funded to support the Regional headquarters and the seven divisions in the region. According to the report, from a total annual budget of Le 10,861,150,000 to cover its operational activities in the seven divisions and the Regional headquarters, only Le 20,000,000 that is 0.18% of the total estimated budget for 2021 was allocated to the SLP South.

The report went further to say that, the healthcarecentre did not have any ambulance to convey patients to the clinic for treatment also for those with referral cases.

The brave bird also saw that, no access of safe drinking water etc.

On the same page the brave bird noticed that, the North-East has its own problems lined-up. In the North-East the brave bird also noticed that, there were inadequate equipment and facilities at the police clinic, equipment and general medical consumables such as beds, tables, delivery sets, mattresses, gloves, aprons etc. are in short supply to carry out major and basic health care services.

The report also stated that, various divisions within the region lacked computers, printers and photocopiers to help the police in their duties, as most of the office work is done at public internet cafes, which could expose the force to divulging classified security information to the public.  The report went further to say that, there was lack of sufficient office space for the personnel to perform their duties effectively and efficiently, especially in the Family Support Unit and the Crime U              nits etc.

In the East, the brave bird noticed that, all the problems affecting the North-East, South and East are all the same.

Bra Parrot is very careful as the brave bird will not want to be held for incitement of the police.
