In a bid to upgrade the standard of community leagues in Kaffu-Bullom chiefdom, Lungi, the 23rd edition of the Clozet Creation Social Development Organization has announced their annual football gala set to kick off on Saturday, 12th October 2024, at the Lungi Central Field.

Defending champions Beltel Rangers FC will face Fire Rangers FC, the tournament’s most successful club. Both teams boast of having good history in the Clozet tournament, with Beltel Rangers of Masoila holding the edge after a commanding 3-0 victory over Fire Rangers in the 2009 final.

Fire Rangers FC are returning to the tournament after missing several editions. Their last triumph was in 2008, but they are eager to reclaim past glory. Beltel Rangers, meanwhile are come into  to the competition fresh off after last season’s dominant victory over Osman FC. This year’s opening clash is more than a traditional fixture—it’s a chance for Fire Rangers, hailing from Tintafor, with a reflection of painful memories of their 2009 defeat on a home turf at the Garrison Barracks.

According to the Media Unit, Osman FC (2017 champions), they will take on the determined Super Squad FC of Lungi Modia.

This eagerly anticipated game promises excitement, as Super Squad is arguably the most improved team in the Chiefdom, having just won the Kaffu Bullom Sports pre-season tournament. Adding that, Osman FC remain a formidable opponent, with a history of dominance over Super Squad, especially in the KASPA tournament.

Match day three will see Baranta FC going up against Shrewsbury FC from the Suctar community. This contest promises to be another thrilling encounter, with both teams fielding high-quality players eager to make their mark on the tournament.

The football lovers within the Lungi municipality had told this medium that Clozet Creation tournament is an amazing eye-buzz at Kaffu Bullom-Lungi and its surroundings, and every team is determined to give their best for a showcase of local football at its finest.
