The Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) has dedicated sixty-two staff whom they are well pleased with.
SLCB is still undisputedly the leading banking institution in the banking industry in the country. It has held a dinner in honour of staff that had gone above and beyond the call of duty during a latest fire outbreak at the bank on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
A total of 62 employees were awarded certificates of appreciation in a ceremony held last Friday, June 14, 2024, at Lagoonda, Aberdeen, in Freetown.
The Board of Directors and Management of SLCB recognized the tireless dedication of their staff following their determined efforts to restore the banking facilities to their former glory.
“These certificates will serve as a testament to the hardwork, long hours, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the staff in revitalizing the facility,” SLCB’s managers said in appraisal.
During the restoration of facilities, which spanned over a month, the collective spirit and teamwork displayed by the staff ensured that each hurdle was overcome. From the estate to the maintenance team, and notably the information technology department, every member played a pivotal role in the success of the restoration of facilities within record time.
During the award ceremony, SLCB Managing Director, Yusufu Abdul Silla, expressed profound gratitude, highlighting the remarkable unity and perseverance shown by the team. He emphasized that the IT Department did a fantastic job protecting the server and restoring the facilities to ensure normal banking operations with no major itches. The MD said the dinner was held in recognition of these staff for their outstanding contributions beyond a call to duty during the May 5 fire incident.
