Report reaching this medium has revealed that Tamba Kassoh, a Sierra Leonean student life is in danger; following the death of his father who died on March 7, 2024 after his house was demolished by political opponents.
Africa24 discovered that Tamba Kassoh lost both parents who have been supportive to him, within three years. Following the demise of his parents, our source revealed that Tamba lost everything. No family member to cater or anyone to protect him. His only means of survival could have been the house that was demolished by political opponent who had wanted to eliminate him and father.
Tamba, our sources say underwent unbearable hard times, as there was no one to turn to and was living in constant fear for his life following death threats on his precious life due to the accusation levied on his father as a political traitor.
Tamba Kassoh was labeled a traitor because he had abandoned his own father’s political party the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) by pitch tenting with the opposition All People’s Congress (APC).
Hailing from a predominantly SLPP stronghold of Bo district, southern province of Sierra Leone, it is considered as an abomination for anyone to have a contrary political view. The deceased man was accused of betraying his ancestral party.
A close source to Tamba and family disclosed to Africa24 that they feel hurt forever, due to harassment meted on him more so that he has no one to lean on. The source added that, Tamba was in perpetual pain owing to the intimidation by political opponents who vowed to see his demise just like his late father.
Africa24 further gathered that life became increasingly uncomfortable during COVID-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2021 for many residents who were perceived APC supporters.
As the world was struggling then in the fight against the global disease; inter-district lockdowns, lasting for about two months, were imposed by the government in Sierra Leone. This action by government saw multitude of perceived APC supporters ensued bitter experiences, by SLPP thugs who became a thorn in the flesh of APC loyalists in that part of Sierra Leone.
The restrictive movement imposed by government to curtail the spread of the virus; was utilized as a ploy to go after political opponents like Tamba Kassoh and many others who experienced unbearable sufferings at the hands of SLPP thugs.
The 24- year-old Tamba Kassoh now fears for his life; as the police who are supposed to protect lives and property are unable to secure his basic fundamental human rights. It is feared that Tamba’s life could be in serious danger, as there is no one to come to his aid.
