Kono District Football Association (KDFA) has distributed some football kits to 14 chiefdoms in Kono.
The chiefdoms are to collect their kits as part of KDFA’s support for the upcoming second edition of the Chiefdom League.
Each chiefdom has received two footballs and a complete set of jerseys, with the gesture meant to promote the development of football in the district.
FA Chairman, Abubakrr Mansaray, announced a 50% increase in cash as prize for this year’s league.
The winners will take home 20,000 NLe, while runners-up will receive Le10,000.
This is far above prizes for the previous edition which cash prizes were Le10,000 NLe and 5,000 NLe, respectively for the winner and second.
2024 league will kick off December 7, with an opening match to be played between two famous chiefdoms: Nimikoro and Gbense.
The competition will end January 1, 2025 (New Year’s Day).
