As the Wise Bird was going through some newspapers, it saw a piece titled in which Dr. Yumkella said Ministers are not responsible for fixing electricity issues.

The statement did not go down well with some people in the country; according to the wise bird the statement is very much unfortunate, if the Minister(s) are not responsible for “light business” then who is responsible?

The most respected animal will say without hesitation that, the Chairman Energy and Governance Chairman speaks, as if he is from space, did not know exactly how the system works in government circle.

The question is why was he appointed there in the first place? He was appointed to fix the energy problems in the country; we hope he should know that.

The Wise Bird will not be surprised to hear someone like Dr. Yumkella saying such a “strange” statement in public, as even the dead, unborn child knows that he has failed the people of this country in totality. And so he can say anything to continue to destroy President Bio’s administration.

In his speech Dr. Yumkella said they acknowledge the challenges, and so if the Minister(s) is not responsible to fix the problem why does the Minister(s) acknowledge of a problem?

Doc went further to say Sierra Leone is presently negotiating with Guinea to purchase additional electricity- this is so contradicting.

The Wise Bird did not understand whether Dr. Yumkella’s understanding on exactly what he was saying in public about Minister(s) not responsible for fixing electricity problem. When in fact they, the government, had gone ahead to negotiate with other government for light.

The bird also saw in his speech saying the energy sector faces significant challenges and that; the government is actually working towards addressing the solutions through efforts of both local and international partnership-this is nonsensical too.

Are all these moves to fix the electricity problem in the country but not the responsibility of the Minster(s)?

By the way who does all the negotiations on behalf of government?

Is it the Minister of Works, Education or the Minister of Labor? It should be the Minister of Energy, I am sure.

The most respected animal went out to get the views of people in respect of what Dr. Yumkella said, all those the bird contacted, expressed dismay over his speech.

 

Some of the people even said Dr. Yumkella would not create any impact in his new appointment and would continue to fail the people of Sierra Leone.

Because all his ideas have eroded.

According to the people President Bio only brought this man back as a payback for all the molestations and embarrassment he had received during 2018 elections campaign.
