The leading candidate in the upcoming Drivers Union elections in the country, Mr Abdulai Bah is ready to lead, according to many observers.
Bah became a member of the largest Trade Union Organizations, which has is the Drivers Union in Sierra Leone, in 1990.
He has been a strong pillar towards the existence and success of the Union, at both regional and national levels, respectively.
Presently he is the Southern Region Chairman of the Union and has been representing the leadership of the union and its membership in a remarkable manner.
Bah has been maintaining a cordial relationship between the Union and the Southern Region Stakeholders by collectively working together with others in moving the region forward.
Despite being a member of the union, Bah is also one of the leading fuel dealers in the Southern Region.
He has been complementiny the government in providing fuel for the people in the south and its environs.
During the visit of the First Lady in Kenema and Bo, Abdulai Bah was one of the leading stakeholders that stood by as he provided a rosy-welcome for the First Lady Fatima Bio, a sign of respect for the First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
Bah has promised to build upon the legacy of the incumbent President-Mr Alpha Amadu Bah, who had worked so hard to secure all the parks including the Taxaco Lorry Park, Freetown and their offices for the drivers across the country, with legitimate documents.
He also promised that all paid up members of the union will continue to enjoy legal representations in all matters affecting their jobs, in the police stations and in courts, as a benefit for being paid up members of the union.
He also promised to foster peace and national cohesion among all aggrieved members of the union for national unity and development.
“My mission is to ensure that all paid up members of the Drivers Union enjoy equal rights and equal opportunities as a licensed drivers,” Mr Abdulai Bah said.
He said he is not coming as a “dreg-man to lead the union,” ( or as poor man) but he is coming in giving back what he has gained from the union, since 1990 he became a member of the union.
He called out all other aspirants to see him as a brother with a genuine heart.
He therefore he is wishing them to come onboard and support his leadership desire in the interest of the development of the union because, he firmly believes that, unity is strength.
