The Wise Bird is so much loved by the people because he believes in objectivity,patriotism.

And the bird is admired on the way he always analysis issues of national interest.The most respected animal has been flying from East to the West of the Capital Freetown to get firsthand information about GUMA Valley, one of the most respected institutions in the country.

The bird in his investigations noticed that, Guma is one of the most important institutions in the country.

As the saying goes, “WATER IS LIFE” ; indeed water is life in every aspect of life and nobody in his/her right frame of mind will attempt to dispute this fact.

But sometimes the institution falls below expectations by way of not being able to deliver services to the people, in other words, it mostly cannot supply water to the people in most part of the city.

In certain areas particularly in the east-end of the capital, the people go days without having pure drinking water from Guma.

Sometimes it is not only days, but weeks, or months.

The most respected and uncompromising animal also noticed that GUMA has increased its tariffs in water supply, but it has not increased its effectiveness in water supply to the people.

The people only pay for services they do not get to the fullest, which is according the brave bird, a disservice to the people.

The most disturbing thing the bird noticed was the amount of wastage or leakage of water in most of the streets in Freetown.

What the bird also noticed was that workers and non-workers of GUMA valley are always on the streets spoiling rubber pipes to get water, others are doing illegal pipe borne water connections for people.

The bird starts to wonder whether the institution (GUMA) has a wastage unit or monitors to identify where wastages or leakages are in the city. If at all there are inspectors then they are not working to protect the institution and its name or image.

Many a time private people do illegal connections without the authority of GUMA, and , often a times they’d catch GUMA worker by compromising the situation in a way of taking bribes from people.

The brave bird will be monitoring the situation and report to GUMA, provided if GUMA will take action.

The wise bird spoke to few people about the importance of Guma. Everybody agrees with the bird about the lethargic attitude of the institution, Guma.

Some people said GUMA is very important but… the bird cannot give any judgment for that “but.”
