The Jagaban Foundation in Freetown has dispelled some rumours of his arrest or molestation.
The rumours said he was molested and arrested, something that is denied as wrongful reported.
In a released issued on Wednesday 12th December 2024, the note says “the attention of the ‘Jagaban’ Foundation has been drawn to various audios and write-ups making rounds on social media, falsely claiming the arrest and detention of the All People’s Congress’s (APC) popular politician and philanthropist, Sheik Mohamed Ormodu Kamara, known as ‘Jagaban’,” the notice reads in part.
According to the release, while another audio also erroneously reported that ‘Jagaban’ was molested before being arrested and that his passport had been impounded to help the police in the investigation, but was never so.
The Foundation says it wants the public to know that ‘Jagaban’ has never been arrested, nor was he ever interrogated by anyone.
“Let it also be known that Mr Kamara has never and will never be involved in anything that will undermine the peace of our beloved country, Sierra Leone, adding to the existing Smsuffering of the people.”
“I have always been praying for our country to have God fearing leaders and I have been having sleepless nights as Sierra Leoneans did not deserve what they are currently going through”, a quote is believed to be said by Jagaban.
“I believe in Allah, as He is my strongest pillar and that nobody can be able to bring down or destroy any other human being without His approval,” he added.
“The rumours by these demented rumor mongers are not only far from the truth but are also fallacious and scandalous and are willfully crafted with the sole aim of frustrating the efforts of God fearing people who are trying to change the narratives”, he added.
We therefore urge them to desist from spreading such fake news as they could not help the current socioeconomic situation of the country.
The Foundation therefore wants the public to also know that Sheik Mohamed Ormodu Kamara (Jagaban), has safely returned to the United States of America (USA) to continue to look after his family and his business after successful engagements with stakeholders as well as providing support to various communities and vulnerable groups across the country.
The Foundation calls on those involved to realize that such negative reports are scaring and will not only have the propensity to frighten The Kamara Family but other well-meaning Sierra Leoneans in and out of the country.
The Foundation encourages detractors to do diligent service to the nation and the party other than to destroy the hard earned reputation of well-meaning citizens.
