The Chairman of Bo Rangers Football Club, Babadi Kamara, has donated a whopping sum of money for a football gala in Kono.
Babadi is contesting for president in the upcoming Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) election.
He donated Nle 150 to the Kono District Football Association (KDFA) to support the Inter-Chiefdom Football tournament there.
The tournament’s second edition kicked off last Sunday, December 7, 2024, at the Koidu Community Playing Field.
Kamara underscored his commitment to unifying and uplifting the sport in that part of the country.
KDFA Chairman, Abubakarr Mansaray expressed gratitude for Kamara’s support, thus stressing the competition’s role in fostering unity among the district’s 14 chiefdoms while nurturing young talents. “This contribution is a testament to Kamara’s dedication to football development,” Mansaray stated.
Acting Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Kuyateh of the Eastern Region Football Association, echoed these sentiments and commended Kono’s hospitality and assured of the region’s support for Kamara’s SLFA presidential bid.
Kuyateh revealed that the nine regional delegates are unanimously backing Kamara, describing him as a “Godsend” to promote Sierra Leonean football.
