The Hon. Speaker Segepoh Solomon Thomas has sent a strong worded warning to all Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), that effective 22nd November 2024, all vote controllers in various MDAs must be in the Chambers of Parliament to witness the debate on the 2025 National Budget.
He made the submissions at the commencement of the First Allotted Day on the Debate of the 2025 National Budget.
Speaker Thomas reiterated that if any MDA fails to attend debate on the 2025 National Budget, the House of Parliament would be left with no option but to withhold their 2025 budgets.
Speaker Thomas reaffirmed that effective on the Second Allotted Day of the debate, the House would make a roll call of all MDAs present and a punitive measures will follow for defaulters.
He also reminded that MDAs should send representatives not below the ranks of Directors or Deputy Directors.
“We will do a roll call on all MDAs present daily. So, all MDAs should be present during the five-day debate on the National Budget”, he urged MDAs.
