As he continues to champion the Big Five Game Changer of President Bio, the former Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament and current Member of Parliament representing Pujehun district, Rt. Dr.Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, describes colleague politician as disciples. “We are the disciples and servants of President Julius Maada Bio and that is why we are moving across the country to meet those who voted for him.”
The president has just served one and a half years of his second term so let’s support him to succeed, he said.
He made the statement over the weekend in Moyamba while giving a direct Nle300, 000 micro credit as a support to the women of Moyamba district to improve their businesses.
He also donated five motor bikes to the youth of district at the event which took place 7th December 2024 at the heart of Moyamba Town, which brought together Members of Parliament from the district and MPs from districts, supporters and sympathizers of the SLPP.
Addressing the crowd at the SLPP office in Moyamba, Hon.Tunis reminded all attendees that he was not in the district to talk politics but he was in the district to complement President Bio’s Big Five Game Changer.
Kahunwa, as he is fondly called, said he has chosen women and youth to be empowered as part of the Big Five Game Changer of the government.
This, he believes because the young people and women are the foot soldiers of the government.
He added that the decision reflects a commitment to fostering sustainable growth and Empowerment for many in Sierra Leone.
He appealed to those at jam-packed hall to continue supporting the party and President Bio for him to be able achieve all his 2023 manifesto promises, stressing that President Bio needs the true support of every SLPP member for him to succeed.
Adding his voice, Hon. Edward George, representing Moyamba district, said the former ECOWAS Parliament Speaker was in the district to meet those who voted for the president and the SLPP government.
He added that Hon. Tunis was also in the district to meet with the party executives at different levels.
He reechoed that every party member, supporter and sympathizer should support the government for it to succeed as that will give the party an easy ride in the 2028 general elections.
Representing the women, a women’s leader of SLPP in Moyamba district, Hannah Kamara, added that Hon. Tunis was not in the district to campaign but he was in the district to complement the government’s efforts by empowering the women and the young people of the district.
She therefore called on others to follow the good footsteps of Hon. Tunis by helping President Bio and his government to succeed.
One of the longest serving Members of Parliament representing Moyamba district, Hon. Veronica Kadie Sesay, said Hon. Tunis is grateful to Moyamba district because he was nominated in the district. She said Hon. Tunis has shown gratitude to the people of Moyamba district, adding certain unknown people are threatening the peace of the country.
Hon. Sesay called on all citizens of the district to be watchful as he urged them to raise alarm anytime they see strangers who they are not satisfied with in their communities.
Therefore, she used the opportunity to explain to her constituents the GEWE Act and other laws that seek to protect and prevent women and young girls.
