FIFA, in partnership with the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education, has commenced a 3-day training session for over 50 physical and health education (PHE) teachers at the Wusum Hotel in Makeni.
The three-day session started on the 5th February 2024 and it is geared towards opening the groundwork for the launching of the FIFA football for Schools (F4S) contest in Sierra Leone.
In his statement, SLFA’s acting general secretary, Mohamed Benson Bawoh, encouraged participants to take the training very seriously, adding that “the country relies on them for future success and sustainability of this novelty”.
He said, the launching was followed by the training of Physical Health Education (PHE) teachers selected from across the country, who were in charge of training school kids, basic football skills and education to ensuring amazing grassroots football development in Sierra Leone. The line-up of activities touch on football festivals for kids at the Wusum Field in Makeni city.
