The Managing Director of Africell, Sierra Leone, Mr. Shadi Gerjawi in cooperation with the leading sports advocacy, Sports Writers’ Association- Sierra Leone (SWASAL), has officially launched the Freetown Marathon Race of 2024.

The program took place at Africell Headquarters, 1 Pivot Street, Wilberforce Village in Freetown.

On Friday 15th November 2024 with distinguished personalities from all walks of life observed the program.

The Master of Ceremony (MC) for the well-attended ceremony was the Event Manager of Africell, Nancay Lueia Joseph Toure.

She registered her remarks that the Freetown Marathon event will kick-start  come December 8th 2024 in Makeni, marked with a special day for all Africell users at home and abroad.

It will be done as a way of showcasing athletics’ skills and abilities, and will be hoping to receive attractive prizes.

She confirmed that it is time for self-assessment about the body health campaign on connecting individuals across the globe.

In his statement, the Acting Marketing Manager of Africell, Kamanda Koroma, said Africell and the people of Sierra Leone will enjoy better marathon moments in the country through ‘mobile body connectivity.’

“We are ready to spreading our campaign, confidence, reliability and affordability for the needy. We are committed to doing more in order to promote good health among our subscribers,” he said.

The President of SWASAL, Sarh Morris Jr. said SWASAL would promote and protecte the image of Africell based on their partnership they’ve enjoyed over the years.

Adding that SWASAL is ready to bring Sierra Leoneans closer in a bid to afford body-health- marathon event show across the nation. “Students will be able to grab such an opportunity to partake; you can afford the Freetown marathon prize if you have Africell sim and Afrimony. As a legal sports association in the country, we believe in what Africell is doing at all times,” he said.

According to the Media Relations Supervisor of Africell, Elizabeth Cole, she said the company is providing star prizes race ranging from: A half marathon for male (1st position, Le 17,500) and half marathon female, 1st position Le17, 500 while, 10k male is Le 12,500 and other attractive prizes for winners will be made available.

He added that Africell is highly passionate and wiling to cooperation with the government and all sporting disciplines at all times.
