Principal Magistrate Mark Ngegba of the Padempa Road Court No.1 in Freetown has ordered a bench warrant for Chief Alhaji Ansumana Kallon who is the Town Chief of Beleby village at Kenema district, Eastern region.
The accused, Chief Alhaji Ansumana Kallon is standing before Mark N’gegba on one count of obtaining goods by false pretenses Contrary to Section 32(1) of larceny Act 1916.
The particulars of offence stated that the accused Alhaji Ansumana Kallon on the 22nd September, 2020 at Fourah Bay College with intent to defraud obtained certain properties that is one white Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration number AAG 454 valued at US$5,000 (Five thousand United state Dollars) equivalent to Seventy Two million Five hundred thousand Old Leones from the complainant Augustine Ansumana Garmoh by falsely pretending to buy the said vehicle knowing same to be false.
When the matter was mentioned in court by police Prosecutor Sergeant M. Lahai 9939 the accused Chief Alhaji Ansumana Kallon was not in court or neither around the perimeters of the court. Sergeant M. Lahai then applied for bench warrant which was granted by Magistrate Mark N’gegba.
The matter comes up on February 9th, 2023 for further hearings.
