The Wise Bird has been in a state of confusion all this while because the country he loves so much is not at peace since after the June 24, 2023 controversial election was concluded and results were announced.

The question the Wise Bird always asks his friends is that, who is actually responsible for the mess in the country today?

Nobody was able to answer for fear of being sacked from their jobs; thank God the Wise Bird is not employed by government.

And because of the question was left unanswered by most of the bird’s friends, the Wise Bird started to fly from place to place in order to get an answer to the question posed on the floor.

The first port of call was the seat of power, State House, but unfortunately those the bird met could not attempt to give an answer to the question because they also afraid of losing their positions in the government. So the bird was referred to Parliament as they are the lawmakers and there again they could not give him an answer.

In the same angle, the lawmakers referred the bird to the Judiciary because they are the law enforcement officers in the country; they know better but there again, at the Judiciary, no answer was given.

Having tried to get an answer from all the three Arms of government which failed, the bird, however was left with no alternative; and so as usual he went to the public to get an answer to the question for better clarification as to who is actually responsible for the mess in which the country has now found itself today.

All those the bird met have different views on the matter. Some say the Judiciary is responsible, others say the Legislative must share the blame, others went further to say it is the very State House that is responsible for the mess the country is in today because the ones there have failed to bring peace and unity to the people; instead they continue to divide the country at every given time.

To a larger extend, others say the mess in which the country is in today squarely rest on the shoulders of one particular institution and its leadership and that institution is the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL). This is because guys there have failed to do the right thing at the right time and at a particular place, meaning they have failed to adhere to the will of the people.

For the purpose of clarity, the bird asked those he met, these people too continue to point fingers of blame at ECSL that these men are fully responsible for all mess that has been happening in the country.

The bird further contacted few other people to give their views on the current status of the country, they told the bird that, since the controversial election results were announced, the country has been on standstill because the results had never reflect the will of the people as alleged by the people asked.

Having messed-up the country, the Wise Bird was reliably informed that, the Chief Commissioner is contemplating to resign from office.

Simply put, the Chief Commissioner came on a mission, and that mission has been accomplished.
