Report reaching this medium indicates that the former Post Commander of the Sierra Leone Police deployed at the Sierra Leone Guinea border, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Christiana Sesay is in big trouble after she has been declared wanted by the Inspector General of Police, Ambrose Michael Sovula.
ASP Christina who also served as Operations Officer at the Lungi Airport was expected to take part in the United Nations Peacekeeping
Mission in South Sudan with twelve other female officers on October 30th 2021, was prevented from traveling on the instruction of IGP Sovula.
A civil society activist, Charles Lahai who made the disclosure at a news conference in Freetown said the Police Chief and the ADC to Vice President, AIG Brima Kanneh instructed the Support Officer ASP Ramy Tommy of the Airport Police Station to arrest and stop ASP Christiana from traveling to the UNMISS Mission.
Lahai said, the Police Chief accused ASP Christina of being a member of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party. He said the authorities also accused ASP Christiana of searching the vehicle of the then Running mate of the then opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh in 2017 even though it was a lawful duty.
He said after the Presidential, Parliamentary and Local Council elections in March 2018,, the SLPP won and Dr. Juldeh Jalloh became the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and AIG Brima Kanneh became his ADC.
‘IGP Sovula decided to target ASP Christiana and allegedly sent thugs to attack her at her residence in Kambia.
The thugs also attempted to burn down her car at the Kambia Guinea boarder where she was working as the Post Commander.
He said the only offence ASP Christiana committed was to lawfully search the vehicle of the then SLPP Running mate now Vice President whilst he was coming from Guinea, following allegations of certain persons moving with private militia contrary to the laws of the country, all vehicles coming from that end were searched.
In a frustrated mood, Lahai said the Police Chief prevented ASP Christiana from traveling with Asky Airline after undergoing all the formalities at the departure Hall of the Freetown International Airport in Lungi.
He disclosed that over ten police officers came to arrest her inside the Airport on the directives of IGP Sovula and AIG Brima Kanneh for performing lawful duties which has been totally condemned by various Civil Society activists. He revealed that her boarding pass was withheld by the Asky Airline Manager.
“After she was stopped from traveling the same day ASP Christiana rushed to the residence of Vice President in tears, pleading with him to tamper mercy with her.
She pleaded with the Vice President to forgive her of any wrong doing she might have committed to him to enable her participate in the UN Mission in South Sudan,” Lahai said in a furious mood.
He said the Vice President immediately instructed the Police Chief to allow her to travel because the allegations levied against her was not correct.
The Vice President insisted that if ASP Christiana had any issue, they should wait after her end of mission in South Sudan.
He said despite the orders of the Vice President, ASP Christiana continues to face lots of death threats on her life and that of her children, persecution from police officers on the orders of IGP Sovula.
He accused SLPP thugs of threatening to kill ASP Christiana at anytime they set eyes on her for searching their vehicle during the campaign period.
This latest development prompted ASP Christiana to seek refuge to an unknown destination and since then her whereabouts remains unknown.
Family members have expressed serious concern about her safety, security and well-being and that of her children.
