At APC’s North-Western Region Retreat, Hon. Abdul Kargbo, the Minority Leader in Parliament, delivered a powerful and rallying speech that underscores the need for unity and strategic action within the party.
He emphasized that power is not handed over like that as one may wish but it is earned through a deliberate and legitimate efforts.
Hon. Kargbo called on all APC members to rise from complacency, and actively prepare to work towards reclaiming State House by 2028.
He assured of parliamentary commitment to the party’s goals, including in the upcoming constitutional amendments bent on preventing a recurrence of electoral injustices. That he said will further inspire confidence in APC’s ability to lead Sierra Leone again.
Hon. Kargbo’s remarks also highlight the importance of fostering peace within the party, especially as they work on the process to selecting a flag bearer approaches.
He reminded members that while a diverse support for flag bearer contestants is natural, all energies must converge behind the chosen candidate once the selection process will have concluded.
This unifying stance is crucial in ensuring that APC remains focused and undivided in its pursuit of national leadership. The announcement of a new parliamentary committee, headed by an APC member, he said, is a testament to the party’s growing influence and readiness to hold the government accountable.
The Minority Leader’s message is both a call to action and a reassurance of APC’s preparedness to reclaim its rightful position in governance. By urging all members to avoid internal conflicts and prioritize the party’s collective goals, Hon. Kargbo demonstrated true leadership. His emphasis on fairness, unity, and preparation serves as a clarion call for APC supporters to stand together and fight for victory in 2028.
