The Central One Football Association (COFA) has informed football fans and supporters that the Football Ambassador of the national team, Leone Stars, Christian Dauda hosted a meeting on Monday 15th January, 2024, at the COFA pavillion to facilitate mediation talk between Kroobay and KrooTown road Communities ahead of their anticipated derby.
Representatives from KTR and Kroo Bay, as well as other concerned parties, are encouraged to attend this meeting.
COFA Management emphasizes that it is crucial that they listen to each other’s grievances, and respects each other’s perspectives, and work towards finding a common ground for the betterment of their communities.
However, there were recent clashes between the two communities which led to the intervention of the Sierra Leone Police ahead of their derby match. This led to the postponement of the said match, adding that the upcoming sessions, will present a significant opportunity for all stakeholders to come together and address the issues that led to the conflict.
It is essential that we seize this moment to promote understanding, reconciliation, and a peaceful resolution. Representatives from KTR and Kroo Bay, as well as other concerned parties, are encouraged to follow the positive dreams of football in the country.
