The Wise Bird has been following events and activities by majority of the politicians including the former vice president Chief Sam Sumana in the All People’s Congress (APC) party.

The bird has observed the quietness of former VP towards the activities of the party.

It is very clear that the election of a president and all other elective positions is a process and not an event as many people have taken it to be as event.

The most respected animal who has a lot of experience in public life has noticed of late that, those that have shown interest for the position of president since 2018 and 2023 have been very much lethargic in doing what they supposed to be doing within the party.

The Wise Bird is of the view that, no individual or group of individuals will win an election over night without the support of others to work side by side in the process of campaigning to get a majority.

The bird has made a survey in respect of all those wanting to become president under the ticket of the APC, party, and the bird has noticed that none of them including the former vice president Chief Sam Sumana is making serious effort to re-unite the party.

It is expected now that those who have shown up should take the approach of Kamala Harris of the United States of America. Even though she has not been officially named as the flag-bearer of their party, she is all over America taking to people about her ambition to become the president of America.

But here in Sierra Leone, politicians are waiting three months to the Presidential and Parliamentary elections before they start their campaign, and that was more the reason some of them would sometimes fail to win an election.

The Wise Bird also noticed that, a good number of those wanting to become president do not pick calls whenever they are called upon for simple verifications.

The question the brave bird wants to ask is that, how do they want to win an election without talking to people who want the views of these aspirants to be known to the public?

As the Wise Bird does not brag that he knows it all, and so that is why the bird always goes out to sound the views of the people in respect of important issues of national interests.

The uncompromising animal wasted no time but went straight to the APC Headquarters at Old Railway Line, Brookfields, Freetown.

The purpose of the bird’s visit was to get the views of senior members of the party in respect of the lethargic attitude of those wanting to lead the party including the very Chief Sam Sumana whose case is yet to be concluded, and so the possibility of him contesting for the position of president in the party is doubted by some.

The very first person the bird met was very quick to say the party is making progress on Chief  Sam’s matter, adding that, it is just a question of time to lay the matter to rest.

The bird is very intelligent, he does not want to get a single answer and so he went to another very senior member of the party. The man was very diplomatic in answering question about the Chief’s case as he told the bird that the matter is under very serious consideration within the party’s structure.

Some people were even asking at the party office whether Chief Sam Sumana is in the country or not because little is known about this man.

Currently, some have even been asking whether he has withdrawn from the race or still have faith or deep interest.

The Wise Bird contacted one of Sam’s supporters, and he was told that Chief will put out a statement very soon to make his position known.

The bird is waiting for that statement.
