The Chief Executive Officer of TNB, has been granted 200M bail after a theft accusation that arose at Bloom Bank.
Abdulai Barrie A.S Bah, the Defense Counsel, who was representing the accused mentioned the matter and told the court that it is the fourth time they are appearing in court but no progress had been made.
In that circumstance the defense counsel renewed his bail application while magistrate Sahr Kekura granted the accused bail with the sum of two thousand Leones plus 2 sureties in like sum.
Both sureties were given the condition that they must have been employed in a recognized institution in Sierra Leone.
And that one of the sureties must have a title deed.
32- two-year old Abdulai Barrie a businessman made his fourth appearance before magistrate Sahr Kekura of Pademba road court No.1.
On three count, he was held for a charge to wit Conspiracy to Defraud Contrary to law, and on two count charges he was accused for committing larceny to a servant which is contrary to Section 17 (1) (a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of offense on diverse dates between Wednesday 13 to 19th November, the witness said
at the Bloom Bank, Sierra Leone Limited, No. 3 Rawdon Street, the accused had intent to defraud as he conspired together with one Mohamed Lamin Bah, Ibrahim Sow and other persons who‘re unknown and they defrauded Bloom Bank, Sierra Leone, Limited with sum of One Million Eight Hundred and Eighty- One Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Three New Leones and Ninety-Five cent (Nle 1,881,153.95).
And on count two the accused person, on diverse dates, between Thursday 2nd to 9th November 2023 at the Bloom Bank, Sierra Leone, Limited, No. 3 Rawdon Street, in Freetown Judicial District, being the Chief Executive Officer of the Transnational Business (TNB)
Sierra, Leone, Limited, a contracted sub-agent for financial remittance on behalf of Bloom Bank S.L. Limited, stole the sum of Eight Hundred and Eighty-One Thousand, One Hundred and Fifty Three New Leones and Ninety-Five cent (Nle 881,153.95) as properties of Bloom Bank, Sierra Leone Limited.
On count three the accused person, on diverse dates, between 2nd to 13th November, 2023 at the Bloom Bank, Sierra Leone, Limited, No. 3 Rawdon Street, in Freetown being the Chief Executive Officer of the Transnational Business (TNB) Sierra Leone, Limited, a contracted sub-agent for financial remittance on behalf of Bloom Bank S.L. Limited, stole the sum of One Million New Leones (Nle 1,000.000/00) as properties of Bloom Bank.
Meanwhile, the matter adjourned to the 21 May 2024; ASP Ibrahim Mansaray was the one prosecuting the matter.
