Ahead of Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers, Sierra Leone U-17 football team has successfully undergone the Pre- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan test as part of their preparation for their forthcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, WAFU Zone A, which will be hosted in Senegal.
This crucial MRI test is a non-invasive medical procedure that provides detailed images of internal body structures, playing a vital role in assessing the eligibility of players for the youth football competitions.
Meanwhile, all teams in the U-17 category are required to complete this MRI test to ensure compliance with age and fitness.
A total of twenty players from the team are to undergo the test and Sierra Leone’s squad has passed this initial assessment and are now gearing up for the final MRI test, which is set to take place in Senegal on October 18, just ahead of the tournament.
Sierra Leone is placed in Group B for the competition, where they will face strong contenders: Mali, Mauritania, and Guinea-Bissau.
The tournament is scheduled to run from October 20 to November 3, 2024.
Football lovers are in doubt regarding Sierra Leone national team participation in the coming international tournaments because of their past poor show of action in similar contests.
