The Wise Bird is very much practical in doing things, that is to say he often goes out to get correct and accurate information as he does not want to tell news that is false to the public or leave his people in suspense on important issues.
The most respected and uncompromising bird could recall that, the NATIONAL REFORMATION MOVEMENT (NRM), few years ago, took the All People’s s Congress (APC) party to Court because of the disagreement on the old party’s Constitution that talks about selection/election that is before the advent of the new constitution.
And that case took a very long time in court which brought about the misunderstanding within the party structure, and up to date there is no unity in the party.
The Wise Bird was reliably informed that, the NRM has taken a firm stance on the leadership of the main opposition (APC) party telling them to adhere to the party’s new Constitution again for the second time.
The NRM has highlighted critical issues in the party including the APC 2022 Constitution which they said it is very explicit and must be followed to the letter.
According to the NRM’s statement, they cited Section 47 a and b (iv) which according to them, this provision requires the party leader and deputy leader to resign within six months after election results are announced.
The National Reformation Movement (NRM) condemned in totality all hate speeches within the party structure if that continues, they said, it would have the tendency to destroy the party.
The Bird saw from the statement that, the route to any electoral success starts from having unity, showing respect to authorities and by extension upholding the provisions in party’s Constitution.
NRM urged all party members, supporters and sympathizers to uphold the democratic principles of the party.
The NRM as a movement has however called on the executive and the general membership of the party to adhere to the party’s Constitution and also to focus on unity and oneness in the party.
The Wise Bird as usual went out to get the views of the general public and members of the APC party in respect of the statement issued out by NRM lately.
Almost all those the bird spoke to are in support of NRM this time, saying the party is not in proper footing.
Others said they only hope that, NRM will not go to court again if the present executive fails to adhere to the constitution this time again.
One senior member of the APC who gave his name as Mr. Tommy James Conteh said, “knowing the court system as everybody knows it in this part of the country, we are afraid again if the NRM happens to go to court, that will be another setback and a fresh case for the party.”
According to Mr. Tommy, the ruling party always wants to see or hears that, the opposition APC party is at war with members fighting one another.
A lady who also claimed to be a member of the APC asked the Wise Bird, will NRM go to court again?
The bird replied the lady’s question: “no idea, I hope they will not,” the lady said.
