The National Chairman for the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Dr. Prince Alexander Harding has stated during a press conference held yesterday 15th June,2023 at their party Headquarters on Wallace Johnson Street that Chief Electoral Commissioner for the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Kenewui Konneh and other Commissioners will not resign as stipulated by the All People’s Congress (APC) leader and Presidential candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara to resign within 72 hours.

According to the SLPP national Chairman, the ECSL Boss will not resign while he admonished the APC Presidential candidate to take his message to the people like how incumbent President Julius Maada Bio is currently doing rather than playing blame games, adding that incumbent president will win the election with a resounding victory.

He continued that the APC party has been notoriously known to be liars and reiterated that the answer is big no as the ECSL Boss will not resign but live to conduct the elections.

The Regional Chairman for the South who doubles as the Minister of Energy, Chief Alhaji Kanja Sesay stated that Dr. Samura Kamara has not made clear what they will do if the ECSL Boss and his team of commissioners do not resign. He added that if they resign and resort to violence, there is going to be an appropriate means to the violence.

Alhaji Kanja Sesay confirmed that the security sector is very robust in ensuring that they the lives and properties of citizens and, he said what during the August 8-10 protest will never happen again.
