The Sierra Leone Taekwondo Association (SLTA) has extended a partnership deal with US Taekwondo sport.
It was a landmark event which happened last week.
President Oness A. Johnson, and his technical team visited the Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, at her office in Freetown.
The US Taekwondo delegation includes International Coach David Pelham, Team Captain George Edward Holland, and player James Maxwell Manson.
The delegation’s visit seeks to engage Sierra Leone’s Taekwondo community and explore collaborative efforts to develop the sport in the country.
Minister of Spots, James-Teima warmly received the group, while recognizing their dedication to bringing international experts to Sierra Leone.
“I am pleased to have you in the office. Cheers on this remarkable initiative,” said the Minister who expressed confidence that the partnership will have a positive impact on the future of Taekwondo in Sierra Leone.
Minister James-Teima also highlighted the growing popularity of the sport in Sierra Leone, stressing the importance of involving younger athletes to enable sustained success. “Taekwondo is already doing well, and so focusing on the fresh generation will guarantee a bright future for the sport,” she noted.
