Sex referees from Sierra Leone have benefited from an in-depth five-day footballing course in Cairo, Egypt.
The training was held between February 23rd and 27th, and focused on crucial aspects of refereeing which includes physical fitness training, medical assessments, and on full technical training, all designed to prepare referees to meet up international standards.
The six referees had not only completed the courses but excelled in both fitness tests and medical evaluations, thereby securing their eligibility to officiate matches at the highest levels of global football play.
Notably, Sierra Leone has stood out among the 30 participating African nations, sending the highest number of successful referees to doing the CAF courses this year.
The outstanding referees are: Sulaiman Santio Kamara – Center Referee, Mohamed Buzin Koroma – Center Referee Agnes Gbla – Assistant Referee Sahr Abdulai Freeman – Assistant Referee, Alusine Conteh – Assistant Referee, Mahmoud Alie and Conteh – Assistant These referees made successful output during the process.
Meanwhile, SLFA executive team has extended their heartfelt congratulations to the trained referees, acknowledging their remarkable achievements as testament to Sierra Leone’s growing influence and commitment to excellence in football match officiating.
“We are delighted to witness our referees achieving this significant milestone,” stated an SLFA spokesperson. “Their success reflects on the dedication and hardwork they have invested, and we are confident that they will represent our nation with distinction on the international stage.”
