The senior national female squad, The Sierra Queens, are gearing up their waist-belts for a crucial double-header against Benin in the first preliminary round of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 qualifiers campaign.
The expected game will determine which team advances to the second and final qualifying round, where they will face Nigeria, one of Africa’s strongest women’s football teams.
The first leg is planned for February 20, 2025, at Stade de Kégué in Lomé, Togo, while the return leg will take place on February 24, 2025, at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Liberia.
Football fans across Sierra Leone will be keenly watching the matches as the Sierra Queens take on Benin, hoping for a victory that will bring them closer to competing against the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the next round.
