In a personate call for robust development trajectory, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament who doubles as the Chairman of the Public Account Committee, Hon Ibrahim Tawa Conteh has urged all Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to leave legacies.
He made the clarion call during his committee hearing with MDAs on Monday 4th March 2025 at the New Administrative building in Parliament.
“Let us build legacies and we will be remembered in the future. Many have done it like Akibo Betts who left a school legacy. I will make sure by the time I leave Parliament as Deputy Speaker I will leave legacy,” he assured.
According to Hon Conteh, he has plans to construct PAC secretariat and the committee has approached someone and they are on it seriously.
The Deputy Speaker said if he were the President he will allocate 40 percent of the budget to the energy sector.
He said if Sierra Leone get the electricity right all other sectors will be good especially the education and the economy will boom.
He stated that the problem faced in Sierra Leone is lack of legacy, urging all MDAs and officials to ensure they leave legacies that they will be remembered.
He also pledged to visit every district to see how electricity projects across those districts were done.
