Augustine Williams, who’s a former USL Championship All-League forward, has signed for Pittsburgh Riverhound FC in Europe.
Williams, 27, is coming with MLS’ experience with a prior 76 regular-season goals. And was ranked fifth among the best players in the league since 2010 and he is second among most active players in the league.
However, contract needs approval from USL and U.S. Soccer and includes a team option for 2026.
“I’m excited to join the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and meet my new teammates,” Williams wrote on the club website.
“I can’t wait to help the team win the USL Championship and to bring a trophy to Pittsburgh.”
Williams started his career with Portland Timbers 2 in 2016 and scored his first goal for the MLS team in 2017. After three years in Portland, he joined Los Angeles Galaxy II, scoring 13 goals during the 2020 season.
He later played for the Charleston Battery, where he scored a career-high 16 goals and reached the 2023 USL Championship Final.
In 2024, he had a third consecutive season with double-digit goals while playing for Indy Eleven.
From Freetown, Sierra Leone, Williams had made seven appearances for his national team, with his first match in an African Cup of Nations qualifying win over Benin on June 15, 2021.
