Kamboi Eagles have sealed their first win of the season with a exciting 3-2 win over Freetonians SLIFA last weekend at the SLFA Academy in Kingtom, Freetown.
The winning decision came at 24th minute of play by player Kwame John Sam Loko.
However, Issa S. Kargbo equalized for Freetonians SLIFA in the 32nd minute, leaving both sides on level scores at halftime period.
Mohamed Barrie was able to restore Kamboi Eagles’ lead early in the second half with a goal in the 49th minute. But Banious Bangura responded for the home side in the 65th minute, making it 2-2.
The match which expected to end on a draw saw Barrie delivering a stunning 88th-minute winner, securing both a brace for himself and a vital three points for his squad.
This setback marks Freetonians'( SLFA’s) fifth league loss of the season, leaving them in 15th place, teetering on the edge of the relegation zone. Temporarily, Kamboi Eagles have leapfrog to 13th place, thus escaping the danger zone after their eight matches played.
