Chief Ya Alimamy Kanugba Sesay, 46, Siaka W’deama, 52, a native court clerk, and Santigie Conteh a 48 year old mason made their first appearance before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba Road Court No.2 on Monday 10th.
February, 2025 on a count charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to section 47 of the Offences Against the Persons Act 1861.
According to the police charge sheet, on Sunday 26th, January 2025, at Leicester village in the Mountain Rural District, in the western area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, assaulted Lewis Amadu Sesay in a manner thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, they pleaded not guilty.
The state prosecutor Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh sought for a short adjournment date to have a proper conference with his witness.
The accused were not legally represented at this moment.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bangura granted the accused bail based on their recognizance and adjourned the matter to 20th February, 2025, for further proceedings.
