In his message, minister Conrad Sackey addressed the pupils and emphasized the significance of their efforts and determination as they embark on this important academic milestone.
The minister highlighted that the exams are a critical step towards a bright and promising future of the pupils.
“As you write the papers, remember that this is a stepping stone to a bright and promising future.” “Your efforts and determination are the key to unlocking new opportunities,” he said.

“The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education believes in you and supports you in every step of the way. Stay focused, stay calm, and let your true potential shine,” he encouraged the candidates.
Concluding his message, the minister extended his best wishes to all the candidates, “wishing you all the best of luck.”
The BECE is a crucial examination for pupils in Sierra Leone, marking the completion of their basic education and opening doors to higher opportunities.
This year’s cohort, comprising a slightly higher number of female candidates, reflects the ongoing efforts to promote gender parity in education.
As the exams begin, pupils across the country are reminded of the support and encouragement from their educators and leaders, urging them to give their best and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.
